MEETING OF 16TH DECEMBER

The final meeting of 2015 at the Maleny Hotel was attended by 36 members and guests. The highlight of the night was the induction to the Club, by President Jeff, of two new members.  Melinda Martin and Tanya Stainton are the newest members of our Club - a big "welcome" to both ladies.

Guest Speaker was member David Fraser.  David recently rejoined the Club after an absence of several years.  His topic was "A Blast From The Past".  David is an avid photographer and always takes photos of Club meetings, outings and social events.  As part of his talk, David gave a Power Point presentation with many of the pictures of some of the activities of the Club when he first joined. It certainly brought back memories of days long gone. Thank you David for taking us on a journey down Memory Lane.

As usual Chris extracted money from those present with fines that brought denials from those fined for wrong doings they were "alleged"to have committed.

Jim reported that, despite the storm, the food stall at the Street Carnival still raised around $700 for the Club.  Jim especially thanked Norman and Kate Scott, Bill's neighbours and new owners of Colin James for their contribution to the stall and the profits made.

Rick V reminded members the the Club was again participating at the Expo at the Showgrounds on Australia Day when the Club would have a stand promoting Rotary as well as organising the parking.  Volunteers would be needed on the day.

President Jeff wished all present a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year, and reminded members that the next meeting would be held at the hotel on 6th January 2016.

NOW FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT
FROM OUR MARRIAGE GUIDANCE CORRESPONDENCE

THE PERFECT HUSBAND

Several men are in the locker room of a golf club.  A cellular phone on a bench rings and a man engages the hands-free speaker function and begins to talk.

Everyone else in the room stops to listen.

MAN:       "Hello"

WOMAN: "Hi Honey, it's me. Are you at the club?"

MAN:     "Yes."

WOMAN:  "I'm at the shops now and found this beautiful leather coat.  It's only $2,000; is it OK if I buy it?"

MAN: "Sure, go ahead if you like it that much."

WOMAN: "I also stopped by the Lexus dealership and saw the new models. I saw one I really liked."

MAN:   "How much?"

WOMAN:     "$90,000."

MAN:    "OK, but for that price I want it with all the options."

WOMAN:  Great! Oh,  and one more thing... I was just talking to Janie and found out that the house I wanted last year is back on the market. They're asking $980,000 for  it."

MAN:     "Well, then go ahead and make an offer of $900,000 - they'll probably take it. If not, we can go the extra eighty thousand if it's what you really want."

WOMAN:     "OK.  I'll see  you later!  I love you so much!"

MAN:     "Bye!    I love you, too."

The man hangs up.  The other men in the locker room are staring at him in astonishment, mouths wide open.

He turns and asks, "Anyone know whose phone this is?"
