PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Our DG Tim Keeler has postponed his official visit to our Club on 10th May but will be joining our members attending the R&USCCF Scholarship Dinner that evening.  His visit to the Club is being rescheduled.

MINUTES OF MEETING OF 19TH APRIL
This was a Business Meeting where various recent and upcoming Club events were discussed.

Chris B briefed us on parking duties for The Wood Expo and noted that there were still places in the roster which needed more volunteers. He will be contacting people during the next week to finalise his rosters. He also advised we would be involved in the upcoming Muscle on the Mountain, probably collecting donations at the entrance.

President Paulette also mentioned our recent parking shifts at Australia Zoo (21 hours) and thanked those who participated. This activity produced some handy income for the Club. She then went on to report on the recent excellent District Conference that featured speakers who gave some inspiring talks. She particularly enjoyed the presentations by Sir Peter Cosgrove and Dr Julia Ros Satre. IPP Greg was particularly impressed with the Hall of Friendship at the District Conference and the projects that were on show.

We had a discussion on Donations In Kind (DIK) and decided that, due to our heavy commitments at the moment and the distance to be travelled to fulfil this activity, we would be unable to assist this time around.

Chris then advised that he was arranging for us to assist with the painting of the Sea Cadets facility and would update us when the project was closer at hand.  He then put on his Sergeant's uniform - and us.

Ric T gave us an update on the Gangsters & Flappers Casino Night and at this stage about thirty five tickets had been confirmed of which nine had been paid for. Croupiers “how to play notes” would be distributed in the upcoming week. Practice will be held at Beersheba Museum on Sunday May 7th at 1:00pm.

Roly N requested volunteers to produce pumpkin soup to be sold in our food stall at the Maleny Show.  There was a query whether any member knew of a small freezer that could be used for storing soup prior to the Show.  A working bee to clean up the Food Stall is scheduled for 1 June.

This year “Christmas in July” is to be celebrated at Yarraman Caravan Park on July 29/30th and 17 members indicated they would attend.

The meeting closed at 8:30pm.
